“Amy spoke openly about her struggles and often reminded the community that she had to fight everyday to live. She wasn’t bound by the stigmas of mental illness. On the front lines, she spoke out about the battles she faced. She wanted us to know that she was just as vulnerable as others who suffer from similar mental illnesses. Her story continues in the movement she left for those who fought shoulder to shoulder with her. Amy ended her life on Thursday March 23rd 2017. That doesn’t change the fact that she stood on the front line for us. It doesn’t change that she taught us all the power of our own story.
